A Clarity Break is one of the most underrated EOS tools because it’s not about doing, it’s about thinking.
- You step away from the noise.
- You look at your business from the balcony, not the dance floor.
- You give yourself time to think deeply about the big stuff – your vision, your focus, your role as a leader.
And yes, it feels weird at first. Most Visionaries & Integrators thrive on action & conversation. But building the discipline of regular Clarity Breaks transforms how you lead.
Why it Matters
When you take time to think:
- You make better decisions.
- You see patterns you’d miss in the daily grind.
- You recharge your leadership batteries.
If your “Clarity Breaks” feel busy, social, or meeting-like – they’re not Clarity Breaks. That doesn’t make them bad, it just means you’re missing one of EOS’s most powerful habits.
My Challenge to You
- Schedule one hour a week for YOU, no interruptions.
- Leave the laptop & the team behind.
- Bring a notebook, pen, & an open mind.
Try it for four weeks & see what happens. EOS works when you use the tools as designed – not your own version of them.
This is just one example of doing your own version of EOS – I see many each week – L10 Meetings that have been ‘adjusted’, a V/TO that has extra stuff in it, or Measurables missed out.
Just remember that to bake a meringue, you need to follow the recipe. Change the recipe & you’ll get something, but it won’t be a meringue 🙂
If you’re finding that your EOS tools have drifted from the recipe, let’s talk. I help leadership teams get back to the simple, proven tools that actually move the needle.
